Chats on The Farmhouse Porch

No blooms here yet, but when I went out this morning, the air has changed to spring. The silly pear trees across the road will be getting blooms. I do have an acacia tree out in back that is blooming. It is so hard to be inside the house right now. It is time to visit with Patrice.

 Questions

1.    What is your favorite time of day to read? If you don't enjoy reading, then what is your favorite time to watch TV/movies?
Sometimes in the afternoon I will grab a cup of coffee and sit with a book for a bit. Then it is time to cook dinner and do the evening things. When we watch T.V. it will be in the evening about 7:00ish to 8:30 I don't like to watch more than that.

2.    Did you watch the Super Bowl? If so, what was your favorite commercial? If you didn't watch it, what did you do Sunday night?

Nope, didn't even turn it on. I think I sewed and hubby played his guitar and then we watched Downton Abbey.

 3.   Have you been watching Downton Abbey?Who's your favorite character? If not, have you seen any interesting TV or movies series lately?

I have been watching Downton Abbey. We bought season 3 from Itunes so they sent us the complete season. We finished it up last night. I am pretty sure, I will not be watching any more Downton Abbey. I was a wreck for two days about Sybil. I don't think I like the emotional toll it has taken on me. I love all of the characters. I don't know if I have a favorite.

4.    Do you enjoy home parties for selling items? (like Pampered Chef, Southern Living, Mary Kay)
I never have. I tried to stay away from them.

5.    Please finish this sentence. If I work very hard, I can__________________.

I can get so much more accomplished.

Thanks to Patrice for this week's questions. Thank you for stopping by today.

I agree that Downton gets one emotional. I will continue watching it now that I'm hooked. I'm happy you have spring in the air. I'm more ready for spring this year than usual. It must be all the gray days.

I've got Seasons 1 and 2 "on order" from the library and started recording current episodes (not sure why, since I started "mid-season", so I'll have to check out this season as well to see the episodes that aired before I started recording).

Those acacia blooms are gorgeous. It got up to 60 here yesterday ... had I known that, I believe I would have had to have gotten outside! Too nice to stay inside when it's sunny and 60 in February! ;-)

I have to smile at your answers. You are so cute! And the flowers against the blue sky... I want an outfit with those colors. :)

I love your answers as they reveal a tiny bit of your personality and I get to know you a little more each time.

Your reaction to the emotional episode with Sybil shows me that you feel deeply and that you appropriated her suffering. I didn't watched Downton Abbey so I don't know what happened but it affected you deeply.

I think that you are lucky that you soon will have blooms.

Have a great week.
Hugs,
JB

The blooms are pretty. We watched the game but not half time or most of the commercials...it's definitely not family friendly anymore!

I enjoyed this as always. Hubby and I have just started watching Downton season 3 so I have no idea what is going to happen to Sybil! haha...obviously nothing good. I thoroughly enjoy this series. We are quite a bit cooler here today. Seems as though the weather can't settle anywhere. Enjoy your day!

Hi Kim! If you are reading a very gripping story, do you not want to read anytime, anywhere to finish?
I do!
Stitching nicer than most TV so I prefer to do that in the evenings.
Have a great week and hope you get lots accomplished!

I've been avoiding episode 5... I think I might sit down this afternoon to watch it, but I'm having a hard time bringing myself to doing it. And with what you just said, maybe I shouldn't even finish the season...

You're like me ... an afternoon read with a cuppa (and something nice to eat) sets me up for the rest of the day!

I love to read; not much of a TV watcher..usually at night I am knitting or reading or catching up on my friends in blog land....

Isn't it amazing how emotionally attached we can get to TV characters? I remember way back in the 1980s when Holly on General Hospital lost her baby. I cried for days afterwards. I had not yet experienced the loss of a baby, but you would have thought that I was the one losing the baby the way I cried over it.

The pink blooms on the tree in your picture are really pretty.

Have a great week!

I enjoy reading when I can catch a quiet moment. It's my way to escape for a moment to relax.

We are enjoying Downton Abbey. Have a great week.

Spring is in the air?! Oh lucky you! (But I guess with it, along comes a lot more work...so maybe winter can stay for 6 more weeks! :) Uh oh I sound lazy!!)
I'm glad you found something to do on Sunday evening, but I must say, you missed a good Super Bowl! :) :)
