Monday Morning

It is finally Monday, I hate to say normal because I never know anymore what is normal. At least it seems normal so far. My husband and I got up yesterday morning and we decided that before we went to bed last night we were going to be finished Christmas shopping. We were not going to come back home until we were finished. We did it then we came home and got every single thing wrapped and put under the tree.

We finished up the online things and except for the stockings I am finished. I think sitting there at the courthouse lit a fire under me. All I could do was sit there and think of all of the things I had not got accomplished. I didn't care how tired I felt this weekend I was going to push through it. I told my son while I was at jury duty if he would finish all of his school on his own, for the next two weeks, we would take our vacation today.

When I got home on Friday night he brought me his work and the lesson plans and he had done it all. So as of today I am on vacation. Which doesn't mean much except I won't be going upstairs to do school. Now I can bake and clean house and sew and all of the things that I normally put off in a normal week. I can walk to my hearts content and not be rushing because I need to do school. In a normal week when I am doing school I do this sprint thing all day long. Now I can just be on half speed.

It is so nice to be home and the weather here is going to be winter like all this week. For us, it will be cold and there will be snow in the mountains. We have fog today. You know how some of you that live with snow in the winter.
Well it doesn't feel like December because you don't have snow on the ground? Well it is the same with me and fog. It doesn't feel like Christmas until we have fog. The air is damp and wet and it smells like Christmas to me.
I am so thankful to be right where I am right now. I feel like I have just a lovely week before me.

Thank you for stopping by today,
Kim

So glad that you were able to get so much done and can now have some "relaxing" time this week. What a nice feeling it is to be able to enjoy whatever's going on, not feeling rushed. Have a fantastic day!

You did ALL the shopping yesterday? Dude! I'll bet you're wiped out today!

The kids and I all have colds today, so I'm just going to take it easy. I'm kind of beat from the visit yesterday, too. At least I got the house vacuumed yesterday, so I don't have to do that today.

Well, I am torn between being really proud of you for getting all your shopping done or very jealous....
No, I'm proud of you.
Guess what? It's snowing here right now. Bah humbug

You were full of energy and you used it well. Good for you to have accomplished so much in such a short time. I haven't started my shopping yet as I really HATE shopping for others and even myself. There's nothing I see that I want to buy.

When the kids were younger it was so very easy. I was younger too...Enjoy your winter.
Hugs,
JB

Oh Kim,
Now you can rest with peace of mind. I just hate it when I have unfinished task niggling at my brain! Which is me right now.
Just think of all the fun stuff you can do now and enjoy your weeks before Christmas.
I am a wee bit jealous!

Yay! We got our shopping done this weekend too. I'm just down to things I need to make. So glad you're on vacation now! It makes things so much easier to not be running around trying to do school in between everything.

Wow! I am totally impressed, Kim! To be finished with Christmas shopping is my goal this week! I'm not sure I will be able to make it, either, but I'm certainly going to try!

It sounds like you are off to a good start for the week!

WOW...I think I am jealous! All wrapped and under the tree! What a good feeling. And now you can relax and enjoy everything stress free. Enjoy every minute. We had a little fog over the week-end, but it's gone. We hit 74 today! I am needing it a little cooler...

Way to go, Kim! The wrapping, too? Amazing!
Enjoy your candles, tree, and twinkle lights. You could chill a bit and watch a movie. I know it's hard for you to be lazy, though!
