I love Fridays!

Don't you just love Fridays? After this week, I feel like today is a gift box filled with all sorts of nice things. Today is cloudy and overcast. I know we won't get rain. It is nice to hope we could though. My husband has all of these ways of forecasting weather. " We won't get rain unless the clouds are all squished together." Or my favorite, " You know when the weather says, 20 or 30 percent of rain? What that means here is that we will get 20 raindrops or 30 raindrops." Most of the time that is how it is too. So today we have a 20 percent of rain and the clouds are all squished together.

Ruth Graham has a little poem about clouds.

Clouds are the dust of His feet.
and watching the evening sky
I chuckled to think, "How neat.
God just passed by."

I hope your Friday and the weekend is a nice one. I will be turning my house phone off. I am tired of all of the people who call to find out" who you will be voting for?" I want to tell them, " Just wait until Wednesday and save your money." Last night the phone was still ringing at 9:00 PM.

I hope to sew a bit today. To get some things done. To not answer the phone. :) My kids know how to find me.

Bye for now,
~Kim~

I heard somewhere that the percentage doesn't mean we have a 20% chance or rain for the whole city, it actually means that 20% of the city could get rain. No wonder we never actually get anything. That 20% must be up in the foothills.

Ugh, I will be so glad when this election is over. We are getting all the phone calls too. I just let it go the answering machine.

Hi Kim, I wish that I could share our rain with you. We've had so much and it has been warm and damp and it's getting all my calves sick.

Since I work 7 days a week, I can't distinguish one day from the next except that I go to Church on Sunday, I take a pill for my bone on Monday and Thursday is garbage collection day, hahaha.

I have a low tolerance for election phone calls and those signs they want us to stick on the lawn. Those phone calls are as annoying as those call centres calls.

I bet that your husband is more accurate than the weather forecasters. I hope that you get your rain from the squished clouds.
Hugs,

JB

So I guess we are not the only ones getting all those political phone calls ;) Mine are usually recordings. So they can't possibly be offended when I hang up. Your fall leaves are lovely, by the way. Isn't this a gorgeous time of year?

I don't blame you for turning off your phone. Election times confirm that one of the wisest things I've ever done was to get rid of our land line phone. With only cell phones, we haven't gotten a single political phone call. ;-)

I love Fridays ... even though we're retired, there's something magical about Fridays - heralding in the weekend. ;-)

I haven't gotten too much sewing done today (doctor's appointment and lunch with a new friend) ... I'm hoping to get back to my needle and thread after dinner.

Hey there! Glad everyone is better and I hope you did enjoy your Friday. Interesting fact about "gloom"...never knew that! Nov is still colorful here because it is usually that late before we start getting much color! Hope you have a nice weekend!
