Weather...Not Here

I am I admit, having a bad attitude with the weather. So bad in fact I am dreaming of the beach. I think I really need to just give into it and get in the car and go drive over there. I have lost 4 hens now. One a week since it has been so hot. It really gets to me to find a hen, who has no symptoms just dead in my chicken house. But that is not what this post is about. Today, I was reading what I call the "Nerd Cast." I love reading about weather so much that when I read this one it tickled my funny bone.

.SYNOPSIS...
STRONG HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL DOMINATE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA FOR
MUCH OF THE WEEK. NOT QUITE AS HOT MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS THE
AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE WEAKENS A BIT. HOWEVER TEMPERATURES WILL
STILL BE A FEW DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

&&

.DISCUSSION...ANOTHER MUCH ABOVE NORMAL DAY TEMPERATURE WISE OVER
THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA INTERIOR. NO RECORDS REACHED BUT STILL
AROUND 10 DEGREES WARMER THAN AVERAGE AT MOST LOCATIONS. FOR THE
NEXT SEVERAL DAYS LITTLE CHANGE IN THE SYNOPTIC PATTERN IS
PROJECTED BY FORECAST MODELS WITH THE RIDGE AXIS STAYING OVER
CENTRAL CALIFORNIA OR VERY CLOSE THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEK. SOME
WEAKENING OF THE RIDGE IS HOWEVER FORECAST AND WITH THE CALENDAR
PUSHING TOWARDS THE EQUINOX, A VERY SLOW COOLING SHOULD ENSUE DUE
TO LOWERING SUN ANGLE AND LESSENING SOLAR INSOLATION. NOT A VERY
OPTIMISTIC WAY TO COOL DOWN THE WEATHER BUT THIS SEASON WE WILL
HAVE TO TAKE WHAT WE GET."

Do you see that part that says, " A very slow cooling should ensue due

to lowering sun angle and lessening solar insolation. Not a very optimistic

way to cool down the weather but this season we will have to take what we get."

So the only way we are going to get a break from the heat is when the sun moves.

I just found that to be the funnest thing ever about a weather forecast.

I just love the words that they use.

Anyway this made me laugh so I thought I would share it. The heat is cooking my brain. :)

Have a great Sunday,

~Kim~

Your weather forecast are far more sophisticated and detailed than we get here!
I can see why it makes you laugh.

Yikes! The heat makes me tired. I think it's supposed to be cooler here tomorrow. We'll see.
I just said to Bill, "This is the longest and hottest summer EVER!"

Hi Kim, yikes, to funny, come on up here but bring a jacket, nip in the air. Blessings Francine.

With all that heat this summer I can understand that the weather forecasters have to come up with some creative ways to give you the weather forecast.

All I usually want to hear about the weather is, is it going to be raining or sunny. How hot or cold and how long before the weather will change. I need to know if I should hang my cloths outside and how to dress or should I stay inside, lol...

I feel sorry about your poor chickens. It must be heart breaking for you.

It was cold here this morning and I had to dig out my winter jacket to walk to the barn.

I hope that the weather will cool down some for you.
Hugs, JB

Did you see the one this afternoon about there "might actually be a closed low coming in, if you can believe it" or somesuch? It gave me another chuckle. You know these guys sit alone in their offices and never dream real humans are reading the nerdcast.

So stinkin' hot. I'm ready for a closed low and some cool air.

Sorry about your chickens. Gosh, I hope you cool down soon. It's Fall - it should feel like Fall.

That is funny. Sorry about your hens. I know that made you sad...you love them so. Sorry for the long heat wave, too. I know we had that last year and it was depressing and wearisome. I got so tired of being hot and everything being so dry. Hope you get a break soon.

Your and my brains both. I just feel disgusting. However, it's supposed to get into the 80s next week!!

One way or another, it's going to cool down. The days are getting shorter and shorter, less sun = less heat!

It's been hot here too. Way too hot and dry. I'm sorry to hear about your hens. That's so frustrating.

I sure wish I could blow some cool air your way! It will perk you right up and make you smile! When it finally cooled here I had every window open in the house and was totally content to just sit, smile and watch the goosebumps on my arm! lol! Yes, it did get that cool one evening. And I am sure it will cool over your area soon...
