Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

It is time again to visit with Patrice on her farm house porch. I hope you enjoy this week's questions:

QUESTIONS

 1.   Do you prefer to wash dishes by machine or by hand?
I do both my pots and pans but I really do like my dishwasher.

 2.   Who has been the biggest inspiration to you?

I think I would have to say Elisabeth Elliot. She had a radio show on when my children were babies. She would talk and I would listen and I knew I needed my mind filled with Godly woman principles. I would listen to her and slowly I would understand. So much of things she taught were like a foreign language to me.  I really knew nothing nor did I even know what a Godly woman looked like. So she I think changed my life through her talks and her program Gateway to Joy.

3.    Have you been to any fall festivals or local fairs? Will you be going to any?

This year my husband wants to go to our County Fair. I haven't gone in a long time. But he wants to go see all of the Bonsai exhibits so we are going to go see that.
4.    Bath or shower?
Shower, I am not a fan of baths. I have this lovely bathtub but I am so short I can't reach from one end to the other so I always have this fear of drowning.  If I take a bath in it, it is only so I can clean it.  My grand kids love it though. I can put two or three kids in it with bubbles and they think it is a lovely swimming pool.

5.    Tell me something interesting you learned from a blog recently. Please:)

Oh I learn lots of stuff, I can't think of any one thing right now though.

Hi Kim!
Maybe you need some water wings when you take your baths! When I was a cleaning lady (before a became a teacher) I vowed never to own a big bathtub EVER. I got so tired of cleaning them.
I hope you DO go to the fair and take lots of pictures (of the baby animals)!

I hope you enjoy the county fair with hubby. You've mentioned Elizabeth Elliott several times and she sounds like such a Godly woman. I'm glad you joined in today.

Nice post today Kim ;). I laughed that you only use the tub to clean it! I hate it when I have to shower. They should invent a shower you can lay down in. Lol

I'm really enjoying these chats! I love Elisabeth Elliott too! She is such an inspiration!

I think I would take a bath instead of shower if I had a clawfoot cast iron tub like my grandmother's house! lol! I do like you do about cleaning except I do it to clean the shower! :)

Blessings,
Tammy

I want to go the fair this year too! But not for the bonsai, I just wanted to take the kids. Gotta convince Mr. I Hate The Fair though. I have loved Donna Otto, I think she is my Elizabeth. When I am feeling out of sorts or frustrated I just put on a few Homemakers podcasts and she grounds me nicely.

So sweet to fellowship with you again, Kim.
I love showers but I confess that cleaning the stall is the least favorite of tasks - yes I detest cleaning it!
Babies in the bath tub - now that brings back sweeter memories!
Best wishes
Christine

I always find these chats so interesting! We never use our bathtub...in fact the cold water spigot doesn't even work anymore! :) That's an old farm house for ya!
