Chats on the Farm House Porch

It is time to visit with Patrice, she said today that this is the 50th post. That is incredible. It is hot here today with thunder storms. Here is the valley it feels like a sauna this morning. I wanted to share this photo. This is the flower that herb company's put in all of the tea. If you look on the back of the box it will be called Hibiscus flower. It is the flower used in Red Zinger Tea. We grew them hoping to add them to the Camomile that I grew. I must have got the wrong kind this year because it doesn't like like the normal kind I usually grow.

It has pretty flowers and they are all different colors. Okay enough of the rambling, on to the questions:

1.    Do you exercise?

Yes, I really love to exercise. Right now I am swimming in the evenings. I need exercise like I need to breathe. My favorite is using a balance ball. Just because I love the way I feel when I am finished.

2.    What's your favorite type of party or get together?
I prefer intimate gatherings. The kind where I can sit and talk and share and get to know you. I am not really that good in large groups of people.

  3.  What's your favorite kind of melon?
Like Patrice, I like watermelon, but this summer I have been buying Tuscan Cantaloupe and I could eat a whole one by myself.

4.    Do you ever go to a farmers' market?
No, we have a few around here, but I am always so busy on weekends, I just never think about it.

5.    Would you prefer a series of day trips, or a week's vacation?
I was feeling like I wish I could take a vacation this morning, but my husband can't take big blocks of time off right now. That is why we do days here and there. Not to mention, my type A husband really doesn't like vacations. He enjoys work. Which is okay too. I like work and I just couldn't leave my animals right now.
Not in this heat.

Thank you Patrice! I am still having computer issues. My internet will just die in the middle of a comment and then I loose it or I can't get pages to load. AT&T is going to be here today...again. Between 8 to 8 how is that for making your day long. I think they will fix it someday. I am glad my son handles it.

Have a wonderful day,
~Kim~

Between 8 and 8?!? That's ridiculous!

So we're doing bible study after swim lessons tomorrow, right? They kids are already talking about how they can swim in Gama's pool. ;)

I hope that AT&T gets their act together for you!

I have been wanting to try hibiscus tea. It is supposed to be good for lowering the blood pressure.

That flower doesn't look like the hibiscus I am familiar with, either ... could it be that there are different varieties of hibiscuses?

So sorry to hear that your internet problems are not resolved. I can imagine how frustrating that must be for you.

I love herb teas, and am always looking for different blends! Enjoyed the chat, I started back my walking yesterday, haven't walked in weeks! Watermelon is my favorite summertime fruit, we had our first taste today, it was so delicious! Hope you get your internet fixed soon, it can be frustrating, of course I haven't had to much time lately to post, just trying to visit as often as I can.We are so busy with this remodeling. I went to get boxes today, I will be packing starting tomorrow! I am not looking forward to that job. ~grin~
Hugs,
Sue

Yes you do love those sunflowers! I like your header photo. I am looking at the questions you posted. I like answering them, but sharing is hard for something like that. Enjoy all those flowers, we will be out of summer soon enough,

I try to use that great feeling I get from exercising to motivate me to get out and do it.... unfortunately, things often get in the way!

Hi Kim!
I bet the pool feels wonderful after a long work day!
I can't decide between watermelon and cantaloupe. I have been buying a lot of watermelon, though!
I hope your Internet is fixed soon. I know you must be frustrated!

I like swimming. I like intimate gatherings too. Yay watermelon! YOu probably have enough things growing in your garden to not need a farmers' market. I like them for fruit, because we don't have much growing here. Any vacation, day trip or otherwise is fun. I am happy to have a stay-cation too. I never lack for something to do around here. Have a good week, my friend!

I love how you're growing herbs to make teas. All of my herbs are doing really well so far! We're gearing up for a stay-cation next week. I couldn't leave Gus with anyone right now...he's just too frail!
Hugs,
Courtney

Your sunflower header is so beautiful, as well as your other photos in today's post. Swimming is excellent exercise. I wish I could do this. As I get older, I realize swimming would be a great alternative to my jumping aerobics. This is probably why I prefer to ride my bike more than do floor exercises anymore.

I just bought a new exercise ball for tall people and I'm sitting on it while I read and comment on blogs. Engaging that core and all...LOL It better work! I do like it better than all those exercises I've been doing on the other one. I prefer smaller gatherings too- and I like to host them rather than attend them. Y'all should come to our oyster roast in December!

With you on the crowd at a party, but my hubby loves tons of people. I even get lost with our whole crew, it seems like there is so much going on I never get the one on one I enjoy.

Watermelon.

So enjoy your sharing on your teas...it is on my to learn more and plant more list

As for extended vacation...haven't had one in decades, but we have done one or two days out...they refresh and don't take from hubby's work
