A Beautiful Day

Today is one of those beautiful days, that if I were a poet I would write and write about. We have this wonderful cool weather coming down from the Gulf of Alaska. There is this fantastic breeze and the wind chimes are singing quietly in the sparkling morning sunshine. The kind of morning when the light is filled with a golden glow.

I took pictures this morning. I just couldn't stay away from the flowers. All of them had tiny little bees.

Don't you just love how her tiny little pollen sacks are filled to bursting and she still keeps working? She was very intent on her business and didn't mind that lady taking lots and lots of photos.

When you don't pick an artichoke and let it bloom. This is the pretty purple thistle flower it turns into. Have you ever noticed that bumble bees favorite color is purple? They love purple the best.

I finally have some cherry "pomatoes," from my grand daughter. It was so nice to see a few out there. I hope there are more when she comes to visit again.

This is one of the new varieties of sunflowers I found this summer. It is called Cinnamon Sun. This picture doesn't really show how black it is, I don't know if it will lighten up around the edges as it opens more but it sure is pretty now.

I don't catch many little butterfly's visiting my sunflowers. I see them but they are so fast they fly away.
This one didn't stay very long but I was so happy that I was able to take it's picture.

It is just a lovely day to be outside, in the summer air. It makes that song Summer Breeze keep running though my mind.
Have a lovely weekend,
~Kim~

So glad you are having a lovely day! I've been lazy this morning, but am headed to the gym now and going shopping later with the Hubby for a new light fixture for our dining room. Hope the rest of your weekend is beautiful, too!

That black sunflower is really neat looking. Your zinnias look great too, and I am glad you are getting a break from the heat. It is hot and humid down here today.

I had some of those dark sunflowers one year. Pretty!
Your zinnias are AMAZING! They are so bright!
I'm glad you have some cool weather. Send it our way. We're roasting.
I looked at canning equipment today. I think I'm ready to start some jam making. I'll get some berries at the farmers market.

I I always learn something from you. That's what happens to an artichoke?? Cool! That is a really cool dark sunflower. I've never seen one like that. It's pouring rain here all day so it's nice to share your nice day this way.

That black sunflower is certainly unique. And your zinnias - so cheerful! I'm not going to be outside much today ... we're supposed to get a high of 100. I like it warm, but that's just too hot for me. :-o

I hope Sunday was as god as your Saturday. It's been much hotter than I like this past week. I'm thankful we have employees who don't mind the heat. D3's sow just had 8 little piglets. I have never seen a newborn piglet. They are quite small. They are all black with a white belt just like the boar. Have a good week, precious friend!

That was supposed to say "as good". Duh!
