Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

Questions for this week's chat:

1. Who makes the best cookies in your family?

Oh, I think everyone does, all of the girls in our family are pretty darn good cooks.

( Me making biscuits for biscuits and gravy.)

2.What was the most satisfying or pleasing thing about Christmas 2011?

That is is over!!! I am always glad to put everything away and get the house clean and ready for the New Year. I laughed because Megan told me their house and their lights are down too.

3.How many photo did you take while your family was together for Christmas? Tons? A few? What pictures?

I never take pictures at Christmas because I am too busy, but my son does and he takes a
bunch.

(Our living room after presents were opened.)

3.Do you have a fireplace, wood stove, or pellet stove?

We have a Defiant Wood Stove. It burns the cleanest of any wood stove on the market. You know of course that if we burn a fire on a non burn day we can get a ticket. So we have this stove that is cleaner burning than anything. NO tickets yet.

4.What time did you get up on Christmas morning?

This year it was later than ever. It was about 6:00 AM usaually it is 5:00 or earlier.

Me Christmas morning, no makeup, no nothing.
I wanted a Transformer this year, I have had more
fun with it. This is Optimus Prime.
I was so happy, and it made me laugh and laugh.

Thanks to Patrice again for this week's questions. My husband
is home this week so I am not sure what day it is most days.
It is a good things Patrice knows.
So have a great week!

That cracks me up that you wanted Optimus. Now you know why the boys adored Beast Wars all those years ago (it was a CG Transformers cartoon and Optimus was awesome).

I'm glad 2011 is over, too. On to new adventures!

You wanted a transformer? That is too funny. But " no burn days "? People around here would freeze. Sometimes I forget how far away we live from each other.
Great pictures - it's fun to see you on the blog!
I'm jealous you have Christmas put away. Tradition here is that if you take your tree down before Jan 1 - the world might come to an end!!

You bet our Christmas is put away. By Sunday afternoon I was so very done with everything. Ben must have been too because Monday right after lunch he marched out to the shed and got the tree box without even saying anything.

I think your "OH MY GOSH I GOT OPTIMUS PRIME!!!" picture is adorable! You look like a very excited little kid. :)

What? your all done with your Christmas. What about the 12 days of Christmas? ha,ha,ha.

I take my tree down when the church take theirs down around January 6th.

What do you do with Transformer Optimum? I'm so out of the loop with electronic, but it's fun seeing you so happy with your new toy. You look gorgeous even without makeup Kim.

I love your answers too on Patrice's chat.

That is a very nice wood stove, looks so clean too.

What fun to see pictures of you!! Make-up or no, you look fabulous! What a gorgeous wood stove. I can't show Tom...he'll want to put one in one of the fireplaces. I will take my tree down this coming weekend. If I don't do it before school starts, it'll never get done.
Happy New Year!!
Hugs,
Courtney

No burn days?!! That's crazy! What about the people who use wood heat and don't have any kind of backup heating?

Yes, we'll have our tree down before New Year's day, too. Nice to see you making biscuits! Those are a specialty of mine. One of the first things my mother taught me how to cook - and I still love making (and eating) them!

Best wishes for a Happy New year!

I like seeing pictures of my friend. Wow! You get cool toys!I really like the look of your wood stove. It's really attractive for a stove- our pellet stove is black and very plain.

I used to put Christmas away as quickly as possible, but the girls want it up a bit longer and I have them put it away when church takes theirs down. Work and do it early? OR Have the girls do all the work? I'll take option #2!!!!:)
Happy New Year!
