Well Look Who's Here! Welcome November!

Well, here you are November. I knew you were coming, but I am surprised
just the same. Look at you. You brought some clouds with you and a bit
of wind. How nice to finally see you after all of this time. In years past
I always dread seeing you. Not this year, I am thankful for your
arrival. This year October, decided to stay like September and keep
the warm weather around. I do hope you will bring cold weather.

I have such a hankering for a fire in the wood stove.
I do hope you will bring enough cooler weather to paint the leaves
on the trees. This year, October wanted to stay hidden and there
are hardly any leaves painted red or gold and yellow or orange.
In years past, you only bring brown with you. I hope this year
you will even bring some frost with you to lightly dust the leaves.
It would be nice to see the diamonds sparkling in the early morning
light.

This morning when I turned my calendar and saw that
it was your month, November I am so filled with
thankfulness at the joy of your coming. I know that I will
be sitting and dreaming in front of a warm fire. I know that
the lights will be on and the candles lit and castles will
be being built in my mind.

It is so nice to meet you today, November, I hope you
live up to all that I have planned for you this year. Please,
don't go as fast as October, but slow down a bit and let me
enjoy you.
Welcome back!
~Kim~

I'm not going to acknowledge November until I have more things done for the craft fair... *starting to go crazy*

Well, I looked at the calendar this morning and thought "Oh Crap", autumn is gone and all that is in the near future is cold, snow, ice, enormous heating bills etc. I certainly prefer your California attitude - you make it sound lovely.
This week I need to get to the basement and find the snow shovels, salt buckets, car scrapers etc. Geez, I sound like a whiner today. Must be coming down off the sugar rush of last night!!

November is full of thankfulness, crisp breezes, maybe snow and certainly warm fires. Great post!

I'm so happy it's November. I celebrated by wearing a long sleeved shirt. And there's a chance of rain this week! Better and better. :-)

It's all going too fast! Didn't we just have summer? We have used our pellet stove for a few days now. I love a real fireplace, but this is better for heating.

I agree with your comment on my blog 100% there is nothing like the country and the woods. B

Hi, I'M BACK... My daughter Jackie helped me get it right this time.

I wish that I saw November as rosy as you. I'll hit 65 this November and will be getting my old age pension and then snow will fall and this little old lady will have to make footprint in the snow all the way to the barn. I don't even want to think about it. I'm already looking forward to the first signs of spring. I know, I'm over dramatizing but at least I'll be inside by the fire earlier as the day light is shorter.

Take care Kim. Hugs. JB

Hi there, Thank you for answering my question about straw. I also love your photos of the leaves-these are some that I miss from Ca. Pistache, Japenese and Silver Maples, Crepe Mrytal-all with beautiful hues. Here we mainly have Aspens, fir trees and crabapple. It's now snowing here, burrr.
Have a wonderful week.
Hugs,Noreen

I know what you mean about months zipping by, Kim! We have fun events scheduled for every November weekend (baby shower, granny babysitting, granddaughter birthday party) and then the sweet day of thankfulness. I hope you get your fire in the wood stove very soon! Are you working on another rug? I'm praying for a snow day today (waiting for the district to update) so I can get all cozy, too. Love to you, sweet soul!

I have welcomed November with open arms, too. Viewing and examining leaves especially fall ones I so love to do. I will be out today enjoying them too.
