Monday Chatter.

I hope your Monday is off to a good week. We have a really
pretty day today. Lots of clear, blue sky.
We had a busy weekend. I watched my grand children.
They make me laugh, but boy am I tired after they go
home and then there is the struggle of the quiet house.
The quiet threatens to crush me after they are gone.
I love the sound of the voices and the sound of laughter.

I don't ever watch television when I am here during the day.
I don't watch it at night very much either. When we do watch it
I am not the one in control with the remote.

It was cold on wet on Saturday morning and I broke out
the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. The last time the kids
were here, I had the hardest time finding how to get the DVD off
of the menu screen. My grandson after he has sat quietly and patiently
waiting for Gama to get to the movie. He looked at me and said, " What the
heck, Gama?" So this time, when I picked up the remote, " He gave me this
stare like, is she going to do that again. He even told me that I needed to show
him, he thought he could learn the remote. He is four. I bet he could.

My house right now is really Grand Central Station.
I think I should just put on revolving doors. My older
kids??? Young adults?? Had their friends over for
game night. The yelling going on is so funny to hear.
I have learned to sleep through it.

I am still being very thankful though. I am thankful that
my house is not quiet all of the time. I am glad that there are
little kids who treat you like you are the most special person
in the world when you come in the door.

I will close with this verse that says it best I think.

"What You give them they gather in;
You open Your hand, they are filled with good."
(Psalm 104:28)

It is a good day.

~Kim~

That sounds hilarious....
I do say kiddos know more than any of us at 4...especially when it comes to gadgets and such!
It's nice you enjoy the noisy- along with the quiet. Best of both worlds:D

The kids these days just run circles around me as far as technical issues go! ha!

Nice to know your older ones are at home playing game...so nice to have laughter in the home.

Sounds like a fun filled weekend Gama. I confess I actually have the directions to operating the dvd player (using the remote) taped inside the televison cabinet door! Hope you are enjoying the day, Hugs Julie.

I had to laugh at the comment about the t.v.; I always go to my girls when I'm having issues with my 'puter and such. Full days filled with life and blessings are just the best.

Haha, this cracked us up! It sounds just like him. I'm glad you miss them--I'm always afraid everybody's all like, "whew, they're finally gone!"

hahaha....great story!! is this not why we had kids in the first place, so they could teach us these things!!

i am sooooo techno challenged. i always tell the hubs to call the kids, offer them dinner and we will trick them into helping us with our "issues". i think they are on to us!! hehe

I bet your grandson could work it! He sounds like a sweetie though!
There is joy for the soul in the laughter of children - a wonderful thing to be thankful for!
Thanks for reminding me!

I had to laugh at the "remote" story. It took me a long time to figure out how to use ours (of course you have to use two for a movie)then we had to get a new TV and I had to learn all over again...not a good thing when you got kidlets waiting for you to put the movie on. Spending time with the grands is the best ever isn't it?

Oh Kim I am right there with you on the remotes...everything is just soo complicated it seems, haha. My grandkids (except for the two year olds) can ALL work things better than I can. I love your grandson's comment. Sounds like you had a GREAT week-end! HUGS

The remote thing is hysterical. I bet the kiddies enjoyed their visit more than you did.

All so very well said Kim. I know that the fact that I enjoy a quiet house will completely change when it's quiet more than it's noisy! Life is very good when it's filled with the sounds of love.

Blessings, Debbie
