The Beauty of Life

One of the things I am so thankful for has been the gift
of life. I think loosing my mother at such a young age,
made me aware how fast life can be perfect in one second,
and just as fast, life the way you know it can change, never
to be the same.

As I go about this business of life I am thankful that
God told me, "No" to all of the plans I thought I wanted. I am glad
He didn't listen when I said, I didn't want to get married. I am glad
when I told Him that no way would I ever want kids.
I am so happy that when I said, I wanted to be rich and famous and
all of that, He told me He had a better plan.

Guess what I found out today? Well, I found the verse today in my reading
for today. It says, " Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward
from him."
Psalm 127:3

I am going to be a grandmother for the 7th time. Yep, my son and my daughter-in-love
are going to have a fourth baby. She said I could share it.

I am so glad and thankful of course, that God is God and I am so glad I am not.

Have a lovely day,
~Kim~

Me, too! I told a friend yesterday....I enjoyed my three pregnancies, but I don't care to do it again or to go back and do it over again! I am happy with where we all are now! That is wonderful news about #4 or #7 (depending on who you are!) Congrats! :)

Woo hoo! (I'm doing cartwheels and handsprings!) Our number 8 grand is arriving in January! Isn't it wonderful news? Oh, Kim! I'm so excited for you. Yes, I thought I wanted to be a broadcast journalist and after our son was born I was in absolute awe of the "motherly transformation" that took place immediately. I'm so thankful. Yesterday as I tried to get two of our grandgirls to take afternoon naps so their mama could rest, Birdie kept kissing me. Then I sat with her while she watched Anastasia. Watching her eyes and her smiles as she snuggled under the quilt was rich, happy, and of course priceless. No wonder Jesus loved children climbing all over Him!

Ohhh, this is soooo exciting. Soon you are going to need to build an addition to the house when all the grandkids come over to visit Nanna. This must be Meg, is it?
I'm very happy for you all. A home filled with kids is the best!

I'm stopping by from Pom Pom's blog. Your life is similar to mine -- rancher, mom of 4 (4 boys, 1 girl), grandkids, married 30 years (in Aug).

Congrats on the new baby-on-the-way!
We are blessed, aren't we?

Congratulations to all of you! More joy is on the way.

Yes... I am also glad for all the things I have thought I should have or be, and that God knew better than to give. I think it takes a lifetime to learn that His ways are always the best. I used to say that... now I KNOW it!! :)

Congratulations! Once again, I could have written your post (everything except for the grandbaby part anyway). My plans were foolish world plans. His plans are true joy, eternal plans. Praise Him for saving me from myself!

Thanks Kim for your prayer and encouragement... Today is a bit better.

Blessings, Debbie

I have been reading your blog for most of the evening as my eyes are now tiring , I added you to my favorites as I felt like a child at Christmas reading your blogs, they enlightened me like a good book, and we have the same frosty on our Christmas trees. I love to garden as flowers are a passion of mine, and birds are also candy for my eyes . Funny I was looking up recipes and somehow came across your blog , thank you for making my evening so pleasurable , you have a gift in writing and by enlightening others you are growing your soul .You have a gift that you share for others to tenderly appreciate. (from Mary in Canada ) your morning glory ,roses ,cone flowers , sunflowers will be dancing gently in the wind as I dream of them tonight . Thank you <3
