Getting Caught Up

I am just now getting to sit down in front of the computer.
I wish I could tell you that I went to some exotic place for my
birthday but I didn't. I did share it with the most wonderful
people in the world, my blogging friends and my family.

I finally got to 100 followers on my birthday! How wonderful
was that? I was so excited. So thank you very much.

My extended family came and brought flowers for me to plant
in my garden, my daughter brought home more plants to plant in
my garden but she planted them for me.

I asked for itunes cards. When I am chopping weeds I always need
new tunes. I can work a whole lot longer with music going on in my head.
I don't pay attention to how tired I am if some upbeat song comes on and I
can dance a bit with the hoe.

Our trees in the back are a solid screen so I don't have to worry about the
neighbors seeing the nutty woman out in the garden.

I didn't really want birthday cake this year. So I fixed two strawberry pies
only after I baked the crust I added a block of cream cheese with a half of
a cup of sugar and put strawberries on top of that then made the
water-sugar-cornstarch-crushed strawberries and poured that over the top.
O my goodness it was to die for and I was real lucky that it was so good because
the first pie was gone before I got the dinner dishes cleaned up. I have been outside
planting flowers and cleaning flowerbeds but I bet the second one is gone now.

I thought I would let you know just in case you didn't know but after not
having a dishwasher, every time I put dishes in it I do feel like it is such a miracle.
I am a bit OCD when it comes to dishes so sometimes I washed dishes 10 times a day.
I only have to use it a couple times a day and my kitchen is always clean.

Well, I will stop this post for now, the guy next door is brush hogging and
I need to jump up and shut my doors and windows. The fire-department expects this
to be a bad year and everyone is plowing and brush hogging.

Well, Happy Birthday! How is it that you had to make your own birthday pies and clean up dishes , too? There is something wrong with this picture!! :-) I wish I could have been there to cook and clean up for you! I am picturing you dancing with the hoe and that makes me smile! You are right, music does help make chores more enjoyable. I've been planting flowers, too. It was hard and I am feeling it today...but they sure look pretty! Tell that family of yours that you are taking Mother's Day off! ha! ha!

Kim, I'm so glad that you had a great day and that you got your 100 followers on your special day. How cool is that? I'm glad that you had a great birthday with your love ones.

That pie sounds like so yummy, only I would have to use some other fruits on it as I'm very allergic to strawberries.

I used to eat them and I then one day out of the blue I got really sick and swelled all up and I had very bad stomach pain. I refused to believe that I was getting allergic so I ate some on another occasion and this time I nearly died. I still grow them for others and the grandkids.

Have a great rest of the week. JB

Looks like you got some columbines! Is that what that first flower is? Whatever it is, I just love those.
