Lovely, Lovely March

This morning, I could believe that spring is around the corner.
The air was crisp and the sun was warm. I could almost
imagine puttering around in the garden. I could in my mind's eye
imagine the sunflowers greeting the sun with a happy face.
It was such a glorious morning, I thought I would grab my camera
and go find amazing shots and maybe just the perfect picture.

I do have beautiful things to take pictures of right now.
The plum trees look like beautiful brides waiting for their groom.
They smell like the best candy. All sweet and clean. The only thing
that frightens me is there are no bees. I see tiny bugs and even
little moths, but no bees and not even the orchard kind. Maybe
I should have reconsidered and bought 3 pounds of bees and started
over.

Our cherry trees are blooming too and I thought to myself,
why not get that really nice picture of that bird nest with
the blooms growing around the edge.
I have old milk crates everywhere out there because they are
nice to put my feet on when I am having coffee watching the light
change in the pasture and they are nice for tables to put things on and
in moments when I want to take a picture they are good to stand on
and get up in a tree.
So I found one and put it up next to the trunk of the tree and you know
the trees all have the little well things around them to keep the water in as
well as protect the automatic sprinklers. I of course was looking up
in the tree and not watching where I had put the milk crate.
I had my camera and the bird nest was above my head.
I knew that if I just reached a little higher, I could get that nice picture...

This is what I got because after this I fell and was on the ground.
The milk crate turned and I fell out of the tree and the milk
crate turned sideways and I fell across it.
The moment was gone not to mention I was a bit afraid I had
broke my leg. I hobbled over to my chair and sat there a minute.
Then I got up and walked into the house.

I have a nice bruise, kind of like when a steer or a horse would kick me.
I am glad it isn't time to wear shorts. I haven't even told my husband
yet, of course I didn't have my phone and it was early before anyone
got up, my husband was already at work so I was pretty much on my own.
I did tell my daughter before she left for school and she did yell. :)

So I guess it will be another day before I take anymore pictures
of bird's nests. I guess that Ansel Adams is safe for a bit longer.
I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday,

~Kim~

Oh dear Kim! You're starting a new string of injuries (I hope not!!!) Glad you were not seriously hurt! That would have been tough to get someone to help!

Oh Kim, the fragrance of plum and apple trees, pure heaven. I can see you now lying on the ground, the words "oh my goodness" rolling off your tongue. Glad to hear you were not injuried, and on the flip side you did capture a photo of the nest! I dislike a cell phone, but do keep it with me and put it on vibrate when I am out enjoying nature, at our age you just never know. Stay safe my friend, thinking of you.

I was just talking to my friend about falling. She slipped on some water in her kitchen floor and fell hitting her arm and knee and bottom. She said she would never again "brush off" someone who talked about falling and getting hurt, She said in the past, she has thought..."Oh, get over it." NO more...she knows it is shocking and it HURTS! I'm so sorry you fell and I'm glad you weren't hurt badly. And it's obvious that your sense of humor wasn't injured....."Ansel Adams is safe for another day.".....I laughed out loud! :-)

Got to be careful when you are out and about by yourself. I was thinking about this the other night. What if I fell outside on the ice in my yard when I'm taking out the dog late at night. Most of the time my husband is snoring up a storm. Then again you can't worry about everything. So glad you weren't seriously injured.

I'm glad you didn't break any bones!
Your photos are beautiful. I've been puttering around in my little garden, getting it ready.

I gave myself a black eye the other day, dusting the piano. Seriously. I reached down to dust the side, and hit the high part of my cheekbone right on the edge of the piano. I got a blood blister right away, and it started puffing up quickly too. I'm not sure which is more embarrassing, the black eye, or telling people how I got it :-)
Enjoy this beautiful weather!
Blessings,
Marcia

Oh my gosh! You really should start carrying your phone with you, with all the times you need it... like locking yourself in the chicken coop. ;)

I'm glad you're (sort of) ok though and all you have is a bruise. Your trees are so pretty. I can't wait to get our backyard in and have trees of my own! :)

I'm sorry to hear you had a fall! In the pursuit of a photo, no less! You are a bonafide, certified blogger!

You locked yourself in the chicken coop??? I just saw Meg's comment- giggle!

Oh my gosh, Mom! That's it, no more standing on milk crates for you!

Kind of scary about no bees, though. I guess we won't have a million plums like last year. Maybe let it go this year and see how things turn out with other things pollinating, and see about maybe getting bees next year?

I wonder if there's some way to rent a hive from a beekeeper.

Oh Kim, you could have been hurt badly. Glad you were ok friend. I can see you up in that tree, reaching upward to get that perfect shot...lucky nothing was broken. I do think your trees are beautiful-I love the shots and I know that bird’s nest is picture perfect--I can see it in my mind :)
Hope the bees come back :(

The things we do and go through to get pictures for our blog,Kim. LOL I was trying to photograph a bird's nest for my blog last year and fell too. lol. I am so glad you weren't seriously hurt. I have also tried to hide my bruises because I knew I would get a scolding.

Your photos of your fruit trees are so pretty, I noticed our plum trees were blooming, yesterday, and pray that we don't have a frost to come and take them.
I have seen a few bees buzzing around here,.... maybe your bees are playing hide and seek, wanting you to put the hives back. lol
Enjoy your day.
Hugs,
Sue

Oh Kim, let me start by saying your trees are GORGEOUS!! Soo pretty...and then, I was truly thinking to myself as you were saying you were going to climb up to get a pic of the bird nest, "wow...I am impressed...I would never climb up to get a pic as I would be sure to fall". And then to read you did! Soo glad you weren't hurt badly..kind of scary...I can just see and smell and picture how pretty everything must be there on your farm. I'd love to come and set with you and have tea and enjoy it all as well. Have a wonderful day! HUGS

Kim, I'm sure glad that you only got bruised and don't have broken bones. It could have been so much worst. As you get older you have to be more careful dear friend.

I love your pictures of the flowering trees. I'm so envious. It must be heavenly to be surrounded with all those beautiful trees all in blooms.

Have a great week and stay safe. JB

Well, the photos are gorgeous, as always! I'm sorry, but I was laughing about your fall. Only you. Shaking my head as I read. So relieved that you weren't hurt badly.

I love all of the beautiful blooms you did capture! I hope your bruise is healing well from your fall.

The quest for the perfect photo drives me to do crazy things too. I went out to our local orchards and saw plenty of bees, but they were coming out of boxes. Our neighbor's willow tree sounds like it has a hive of bees in it (or wasps?). So far so good. I have not heard of anyone being stung. :)

Good luck with the diet. One step at a time. Daily walking is great exercise to help with burning calories. It sounds like you may get a lot of exercise with working, and cleaning. I can relate with that one!! :/

Hope you are having a happy day!

XOXO Gloria
