Ducks In The Swimming Pool

My chickens were going crazy this morning. I checked the
trees and the fences to see if Mr. Hawk was sitting
on the fence reading recipes out loud to my chickens.
No hawk. I finally gave it up and thought they were
having a Chicken Little Day and the sky must be falling.

I went in the kitchen to start laundry and to start making
my husband's lunch when I looked out and there was Mr.
and Mrs Mallard swimming around in the pool. Sorry, I
couldn't get a closer shot because they were already jumpy.

I ran upstairs to my daughters room, I said, " Hey, Em
there are ducks in the pool!! She said, oh good Mom."
I said don' you want to get up and see them?"
She said, "No Mom" while she rolled over and went back to sleep.

I ran back down stairs and my husband said they flew away. I wish they
would have stayed. I don't think though, the kids would be real wild about
swimming in the summer with a flock of duck swimming too.

It means spring is almost here, Mr. and Mrs Mallard were checking out
real estate.

I am reminded of this today. " You will show me the path of life; In
your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
(Psalm16 :11)

"Think of the most beautiful place you know on earth. Think of the most wonderful
day you have ever had. Think of the person who loves you more than anybody else
loves you. And then multiply that by a million, and maybe that's the tiniest hint of
what heaven will be like."
(Heaven, cassette.)
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared
for those who love him."
1 Corinthians 2:9)

I am so happy because of ducks in the pool and spring blooming and the ground
warming up. Just think how great everyday will be in heaven.

Have a great Thursday,
~Kim~

:) I've heard ducks in the pool can be messy poopers. :)

IF I HAD a POOL, which I don't have anymore, I wouldn't want ducks in it. I don't mind ducks in a pond but not what I would swim in.

We have a low spot in the field near the road and there are always ducks that comes to swim in there and I like to watch them and see how many kind there are. I admire your enthusiasm about everything, even sharing your swimming pool with wild ducks.

The reason, I'm not fond of ducks in a swimming pool is that when I was a young married woman, my husband had shot a wild duck and brought it to the cave to have his wild woman prepare it. I swore to never again touch a wild duck again. It had louses and they were running around and I was freaking out, all the while grinding my teeth in horror. I skinned the thing and de-boned it and cooked the small slivers of meat but couldn't eat it. Never again, I told my husband. If you want to shoot ducks, you clean them yourself. It was his first and last duck, thank goodness. lol... JB

You are so cute! That is a fancy duck pond you've got there! Laughed out loud at your daughter (sounds like something I would have said at her age). Our ducks are skiing and skating - Now that's a sight! LOL

That's great! We saw a mallard pair in the canal near here. Like you said, checking out the real estate. :-)

We have had ducks on our ponds the last few weeks....surely spring is really on it's way!

If we are awed by the sites here on earth I can only imagine what heaven must be!

I just love when one season loosens its grip and begins giving way to the next season.... God's creation - its timing, its continuity, its calling to the world of the Creator.
How great the blessings are missed by folks who only see the creation and leave out the Creator. I want to sing, 'How Great Thou Art' when such beauty meets me x

Oh I just love your thoughts on heaven. We often had ducks land in our swimming pool where we used to live believe it or not. I LOVED it too for some reason. Though your daughter's attitude would have been my kids for sure, haha. Hope you had a good day!
