Dear Monday

Dear Monday,
I see that you showed up today. I am so sorry that I
don't greet you with a happy heart. No, in fact I greet
you from the wrong side of the bed.
Even the sun decided to stay in bed today with the clouds
pulled up to his chin.
I am not happy about your visit. You came and I have
mountains of laundry and a house to get clean and school to teach
and weeds to chop but none of this matters to you. You showed
up just the same.

I am happy to see you most of the time. When you show up I am
sorry to say, uninvited. I am glad to see you. Most of the time.
Today not so much. I will have to work hard at seeing the good
in you today. Seeing that the trees have tiny new leaves, the trees
look like garlands of lace. The pear trees are throwing petals and I stand
beneath them and it looks like snow.
I will have to work hard today being thankful that I have a washing machine
and people to take care of and a house no matter how dirty to clean.
I will be thankful that Monday like you are today doesn't come very often.

So I will put on my working clothes, and my running shoes and I will
keep busy trying to keep up with you today.
Not to mention that tonight when I lay down my head, I will wake up
on the right side of the bed...on Tuesday!

~Kim~

I woke up early this morning to a small person who had diarrhea and didn't make it to the bathroom on time. Which means I get to do laundry today, as well as house cleaning. Be thankful you at least don't have sick people in the house!

This is so good, Kim, our weather is gloomy outside, and at breakfast this morning I asked dh if we could just go somewhere today.he asked where I wanted to go, my reply was "I don't know".I just want to loaf lol. I guess I am having one of those 'I don't want to do anything days". lol Even though my house is calling my name which right now I am ignoring ..Your pictures are so pretty, and perfect for a gloomy day.
Hugs,
Sue

Ugh I guess everyone's having a bad Monday. Today started off with B ripping two needles clean out of a shawl I started, and J getting a spanking for playing with scissors... Looks like it's going to be a make-some-brownies day! ;)

Dear Farm Girl,
I understand that you can not always greet me with your sunny smile just as I don't alway greet you with my sun. But, as you begin your day I promise to delight you in some unexpected way. And if you talk to the one who created me He will refresh you and give you the strength you need to tackle those things you are dreading. I've seen you do it before. You start out a little rough but you always seem to find the silver lining. Our God bless you today with sweet surpises in the mundane! And I'll talk to Tuesday about doing something in regard to the weather...
Yours faithfully, Monday

This particular Monday seems to have the same affect across many miles. I listened to the alarm clock ring this morning while I was all cuddled up under a big fluffy blanket and tried to convince myself today was not Monday. I was unsuccessful. And this is the Monday of the month where I have to work until 9pm tonight. Not a great start to the week.
But I know before the day is done that you will find a bright spot. You always do.
Hugs, Kim

I am right there with you....What happened to the sunshine we were promised?? This gloom is starting to get to me....we did work on our porch potting some flowers etc., and the front planters should be done by Sat. I am "pretending" it is sunny and warm...haha...Have a wonderful day (even in he midst of a "monday", haha) HUGS

Oh I already wrote a post that goes right with this, but I won't put it out until later this week...I am with you and it is cold here, no sunshine, feels like spring left us. UGH! I have been telling myself today, just do the next thing...we did have fun at the baseball fields on Saturday and my son did pitch an awesome game, now to put on a smile and find one thing exciting to do today through all the labor that is needed.

Love your post...I wish I had your gift of words.
Hugs and cheering you on from Texas,
Janette

Kim, do you remember the song Monday, Monday, can't trust that day, by the Mamas and the Papas?

I'm sorry that you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning but at least you had a bed to wake up from this morning and two feet to put on the floor.

Seriously, Monday is just another day to me because I work the same routine 7 days a week. I sometimes forget that it's Monday unless I put my bone building prescription on the counter the night before so I won't forget that it's Monday. It's a once a week prescription that has to be taken on an empty stomach and with plenty of water and I can't eat or lay down for another half hour after I take it or it will eat a hole in my stomach lining... Still sometimes I forget that it's Monday... I go to work on an empty stomach each Monday.

I hope that tomorrow will be better for you and that you will have some sunshine. How I would love to stop by your place for a cup of coffee or tea or even a glass of water and have a good chat.
Hugs, JB

You're so funny! I hate to tell you but I love Mondays; they comprise 1/7 of my life so, years ago, I decided to love them.

I know just how you feel...I wasn't ready for Monday either! :-) This did make me smile, though!
