Thoughts Today

I thought if I entitled this post, "Thoughts Today."
It might help me have some thoughts. I wonder where
your brain goes when it refuses to think? Mine is rebelling
right now and refusing to pay attention to my fingers. The cursor
is blinking off and on waiting for some kind of thought to appear
on the horizon. Wow, nothing happening, I do have a recipe with a
picture but the picture isn't the greatest. I am not very good
at taking pictures of food.
I like to cook, kinda like to eat, but when it come to food and me
I am not a gourmet eater. I like easy food. Just like my cookies
I like cheap cookies. I like to cook great food, just eating well,
it is just necessary. I think I could eat pizza, three meals a day.
I could eat hamburgers and french fries three meals a day. Lets
see what else, I think someday I would like to sit down with a fork
and eat a whole red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Can you tell I have been on Weight Watchers now for one solid week.
I lost three pounds. I am keeping a list of foods I think I would like to eat
in three months. Panda Express in on that list. With the above list as well.

Oh my recipe well here it is:

Cherry Danish Dessert
Prep 15 minutes
Bake 25 minutes

2 cans crescent dinner rolls divided
2 pkg (8 ounces each) Cream Cheese softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar divided
1 egg white
1 tsp vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling
3 Tablespoons milk

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, use one can of dough for bottom layer*( See note at bottom.)
sealing perforations. Place in a 13x9 pan sprayed with not stick spray.

2. Beat cream cheese 3/4 cup of powdered sugar egg white and vanilla, until smooth, pour over crust. pour pie filling over this part and then press the other can of dough into a rectangle and put it over crust.

Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.

3. Cool a little, mix the rest of the powdered sugar with milk. Stir until smooth and drizzle over dessert.

*** Note

I don't use crescent rolls but make my own bread. I just use the same recipe I use to make
my cinnamon rolls. I don't use pie filling because I don't like pie filling unless it is homemade. Then if I was making home made pie filling I would just be making a pie and not danish. I also only use one 8 ounce package of cream cheese because I thought two packages is overpowering and I like a taste of all of it together not the over powering of cream cheese. I love cream cheese and can't ever get enough but it seems like to much in this recipe. Oh the picture I almost forgot.

I should have photo shopped it and made it look all brown
and nice but I sat here and for the life of me couldn't remember
how to get my picture over to photo shop so this is the real deal tonight.
I heard the kids in there getting into it so this is maybe that last
picture of it because they love it.

I guess maybe I am ready for a weekend. I hope you have a lovely
weekend too.

Wow, I am a moron, I haven't looked at your blog since Wednesday and thought that was your recent post!

Ooo, a danish recipe ... that sounds really tempting. I'm hoping my marmalade turns out, because then I'll use some of that as filling. Yuuuuummmm ...

Pizza, hamburgers, and anything with cream cheese or cream cheese frosting- sounds good to me!It's 3am here and I'm wide awake. Yuk! I just thought I'd look in on blogland. It's one of the few quiet things I can do while everyone else is sleeping. Have a great weekend, my friend!

um kim...you can have anything you want while on WW...you just need to count it! So, don't deprive yourself, because that can only lead to trouble...just ask me. Pizza and hamburgers are my all-time (lifelong) faves! YAY for the 3 pounds!

Kim, congratulations for loosing weight. I agree with you, 2 pkg.of cream cheese seems too much. I wonder why all the fatty food taste so good to our taste buds. I wish that it was the other way around but I guess that the Creator's perfect plans don't always sit well in our plans.

I've gained a couple of pounds this Holiday season and I'm just leaving it on for warmth. It's so cold this time of year. Good luck with your weight watcher diet Kim and have a great weekend. JB

Your list of foos cracks me up - because I am doing the same thing. I have a list of things I want to eat when I get my braces off!
First, a Wunderbar, followed by a huge thick steak with a spinach salad.

You are so funny!! So, since you changde the recipe so much.....are you sure it is good?? ha! ha! I'm "not" a pioneer woman so crescent rolls and pie filling sound good to me! :-)You are much more industrious and creative than I!! There is a website I go to sometimes for recipes. They list comments and almost everyone talks about how good the recipe is and then they tell you all the ways they changed it! It makes me laugh and then I say to my computer..."can anyone tell me if THIS recipe is good?" ha! ha! So proud of the 3 lbs! I know how hard it is even on WW. Done it many times over the years. I plan to get back to it this next week when the holidays are officially over...although MLK's Birthday is just around the corner..ha! ha! Just kidding!Hope your Sunday is blessed!
