Storms, They are a "Comin!"

Gosh after the last storm we had and it has wrecked such
havoc across the Midwest, maybe I shouldn't be dancing
around in the yard because there are 4 storms headed
this way that are lined up in the Pacific. This morning
I couldn't keep my eyes of the sky, it was so red and then
as the sun got higher it changed all of the trees from tired
green to gold& yellow and all of the trees were bathed in
this gorgeous glow.
Maybe it is the lowering of the barometric pressure that effects
me that way, that I just want to dance and sing and run real
fast around the pasture.
The air feels like silk and the smell is not the ocean breeze which
is heavenly but it is maybe a bit of a Santa Ana that is blowing in
off of the desert. One of the things that I love about Arizona
is the light and the way the air feels and in Arizona like the
beach I just feel so good. The air feels like it is blowing straight from
there.
Here is a picture from last year as we were driving to Arizona.

I think I love the deserts of Arizona the best. The Mojave
is so big but once you get into Arizona then you start seeing
all of the rock formations and my mind just starts running
away with me at all of the things I can imagine living up
there in the rocks.

I was also thinking of the beach and how thankful I
am that I could jump into the car and in two hours
I could be doing this.

Next week is Election Day. We have been given
a precious gift of freedom. So many have sacrificed
for us to get up every morning and have what we do.
It doesn't matter what you are when it comes to politics.
But it does matter that if "My people who are called
by my name will humble themselves and pray, I will
heal their land. "
I want this land to be healed for my children and my grandchildren.
So they may live free.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
This is my second post. I am really, really thankful today.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

(Psalm. 107:6)

Well, I'm excited for rain! I just hope it doesn't destroy anything. And your post about waiting for E... Oh my goodness. All I can think of is the time I thought Jack had gone out to mom's pool and that I just knew I would see him at the bottom. The Lord is so good to our babies and us!

Yes, in so many ways, I continue to feel God's hand on our lives and the way He continues to watch and keep everyone safe. It still makes me get weak in the knees when I think about both your Mom and me having pools.

I watched the weather channel and saw that there were more storms moving toward us...

I hope you get some good rains to 'clean' the air and refresh the earth. But I hope no severe weather comes your way!

Loved the description of you being so excited for the weather coming in - sounded like the way my horses feel when the cooler weather sets in and all they feel is their oats!!! :)

Oh I so love the smell of coming rain...and love the beach, but our beach is a six hour drive away.
We are ready for the elections...what a gift to be able to vote.
Blessings to you!!!

Check out the blog post about the box from your drawing.

We had rain in massive sheets yesterday. It was amazing. It's the kind of rain that beats crops to the ground. Hubby hasn't said that anything was ruined. May you have gentle rains!

Kim, I'm picturing you in the pasture running in your bare feet with your hands in the air and the gentle rain falling on you and the big smile on your face and then your husband joins you and soon you are both dripping wet and have to run for cover in the house because the rain is coming down in buckets. Silly me. I can get carried away in my imagination. Hope that you stay safe and that the storm passes without any damage to your property or neighbors.

I know that cattle get very restless just before the storm. You must be very in tune with nature. Take care, Hugs. JB

Beautiful Photos! :-)

And I agree that the only way our country can be healed is to repent and turn back to God. Who knows, maybe God has preordained that we vote godly men and women into public office as a start on that road to repentance?

Good evening Kim, I don't know where to start commenting as I have been trying to catchup on your previous posts. I had the most fun reading about all of those escapades the kids did while growing up. You have the most wonderful memories tucked away and to be able to share them with us so eloquently is awesome. A beautiful post.
I love clam chowder, and your recipe is one I have got to try, real soon as I know one day the weather will turn cool.
The post about the accident in front of your home, brought back a memory of seeing my son pull out in front of someone in front of our produce market, years ago. My heart dropped to my feet. I am so glad the young man and his sister were fine.
And your latest post, I am so in agreement with you about our country, and am praying earnestly about the upcoming election. The picture you shared and the way you described the weather was so awesome. I have never visited Arizona, and would love to some day.

I apologize for leaving such a long comment, but am so glad to be able to try and catchup.

As always I am blessed by your thoughts, I feel as if I am there with you.
Hugs,
Sue

I'm looking forward to the storms, too! I've caught the kids' cold, though, so I'll be miserable and stuffy-nosed while the rain comes down. Oh well, it'll give me an excuse to drink hot tea with lots of home-grown honey. :-)

I'll have to say it made me laugh to picture you running around in a pasture! But your friend, Julia, makes it sound so romantic!
Yes I will vote, but I'll have to tell you we don't really have a good choice in several races. So, we will certainly have to seek God since He is the one who knows the future. Hope you have a great weekend. Sure am happy for the privilege of getting to know you.
