Things I Made This Weekend.

I have been reading lots of blogs on making cute things
for Halloween and being craft challenged, I look for things
that are fast, easy and it has to be made out of something
I already have. Well, mostly things I have.
I went to a site called Me and My Bucket
She had a tutorial how to make these cute pumpkins using
tissue paper and Mod Podge. I didn't have tissue papers.
So I thought what if I took orange food coloring and mixed
it with Mod Podge. Then I painted them and let them dry
and then cut out faces from black card stock. Then used
plain Mod Podge to paint over the faces and stick it on.
I did buy those tea lights that come with a battery.
I thought they looked cute and if my grand children want
to take them home it is okay with Gama.

This is a close up I painted the lids green, and took a Philips
screw driver and a hammer and went out in the back
yard and hammered holes in the lids after they were dry.
I cut cinnamon sticks in half and shoved them in the holes and
added a drop of tacky glue. I tied on some raffia and I was finished.

The crow on the glass block was my other quick
project. I had it from Christmas so I took it and put
a crow on it. Now I have a nice scary light at night. The
dark pictures didn't turn out. So just imagine
it in the dark. The only place in my house that doesn't have
windows is my guest bathroom and it just doesn't look
right having a photo-op standing in the bathroom.
So I did a bit of craft projects this weekend. Oh,
my other criteria for making projects, is it has to
wash off. I am the messiest person and I am
in trouble if stuff doesn't wash off like this summer
using blue spray paint, and it leaked. It was oil
based, and you could follow my trail. It was terrible.
Yep, craft challenged that be me.
Have a great Tuesday!

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

(Psalm. 107:6)

Okay, those pumpkins are SO CUTE. What in the world is Mod Podge? They look like something you'd pay 60 bucks for out of a catalog. :-) :-)

And I like your crow, too. I don't think he's scary. Well, too scary. He might be creepier in the dark with the brick all lit up behind him. :-)

When you come over I will show you, it is the most amazing stuff and fun. It must be some kind of glue product I guess from the way it smells. You paint it on let it dry and it is clear. Mixing it with color just leaves the color. I put the electric tea lights in them so you guys could take them home and the kids could have some fun little pumpkin lights.

Oh my goodness! Those are ADORABLE!! Forget the kids, I might want to take one home. :D Man, we really need to get a mantle on our fireplace so I can start decorating too.

I think you are seriously exaggerating your craft challenged bit! LOL All those little projects are amazing. And like NetRaptor, I didn't know what Mod Podge was either. I will have to check out that website.

I love your Halloween pumpkin jars and crafts. Your gift of creation was there all the time and necessity is the mother of all inventions. You did not copy, you created your own pumpkin jars because you used what you had. JB

great projects one and all! You are too hard on yourself. :) The little pinkeep from Primitive Betty's is one I've made myself. We have so much in common. Except, I have an excess of self confidence. Here, is a pinch of it for you ~ trust your creativity!
