Playing House

I am so sorry this is so blurry but every time I take
pictures of the stuff I make my hands shake. It makes
me so nervous to show stuff I make. I can never
figure out why.

I started digging out all of my fall stuff. I remembered
how much fun I had last year making fall things.
I think that for so long I forgot how much I liked
making things and I started looking around my house
and I really didn't have anything that looked like fall.
So I got busy and made this pillow. I think the pattern
came out of Create and Decorate Fall 2009

I made this mouse out of the Holiday Crafts
Holiday issue but the pattern was from Soft in The Head.

I was grocery shopping yesterday. Being a
pushover for anything from Gooseberry Patch, I bought their
new Halloween Magazine.
it and I am very happy with it. If nothing more that
the recipe for keeping your pumpkins longer.

To cure your own pumpkins to last:
Lightly spray pumpkins with a spray-bottle mixture
of 1 quart water and 4 ounces of bleach to eliminate surface
bacteria.
Let the pumpkins cure and harden in a cool, dry place and
they might last a entire season. (Gooseberry Patch, Halloween, p.9)

I grew a bunch of gourds last year. They are dry this year,
so I need to get busy and make some things out of them.
I have two trash cans full so I can make lots of mistakes.
Fall is so much fun and as soon as it cools off it will make it
even nicer.
Have a lovely Wednesday.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

(Psalm. 107:6)

Such nice fall crafty things! I wish I did some sort of craft. The pine trees with nice long needles are shedding like crazy right now, and I walk by and look wistfully at all the pine needles. I'd love to make some baskets, but I just don't have time. And too many helpers.

Are you going to try the pumpkin preservation trick? I imagine they use it on those craft store gourds, too, but they seem to be sprayed with some sort of hard clear fixative.

I really like that pillow. Perfect fall decor. And that candy corn - too cute. I really want to hook a fall-themed rug but it hasn't happened yet.

I love that pillow! I haven't gotten any fall things out yet, but it cooled off here today, so I may be digging them out soon. It's been so hot that I couldn't think about it :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
