Fiber Friday

Today for Fiber Friday, I thought I would get my little
quilts ready so I could do the hand sewing on them.
I love doing hand sewing the best. There is just
something comforting about sitting and doing handwork.
I loved this little quilt and it was a fun little project to do.

Here is some more progress on my rug. It is really getting
big and it is heavy. You know because I have never done
a big rug before, so I had no idea how heavy they get.
I am using the punch needle and I do like it. I was noticing
that when I use a rug hook I use my left hand. When I use
a Amy Oxford Punch Needle I use my right. I wonder why
that is? I also noticed that using a rotary cutter today, I
use my right hand. I am left handed.

This is my counted-cross stitch I have been working
on too. I loved working the letters. I had so much fun.
Someday I will learn to do this over two threads but
I just can't see. I tried linen and I finally gave up and just
did it on this. I was using those clip on magnifiers and
magnifying glass and bright light, and what little I could see to
do, by the time I took the magnifiers off my eyes were crossing.
I was dizzy so I guess me and all of that beautiful linen will
never meet.

This is my little punch needle I drew myself, I wanted
to see how Monk's cloth worked. I don't like Monk's
cloth for punch needle. It has been fun to see but it
has been a total experiment I won't repeat.

I cut out a couple more quilts today and hopefully I will
get them finished next week and I cut some shapes out
of pine so I can do those this weekend. I had made a pine
pumpkin last year and it looks really bare so I am going to
work some more on it this weekend.
I hope you have a great Friday.

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Kim you're so blessed with this gift to make quilts, rugs and more! I never learned to sew, never was interested, now I wish I could find the time to learn (sometimes!) I have a great mom in law that does any sewing I need for me ;-) Blessings to you!! Lisa ;-)

I like the quilt at the top. For some reason the chubby stars strike me as relaxing. Isn't it funny that everyone who has commented likes a different craft?

Hi Kim, I like the quilt the most, It must be from guilt because mine is still waiting on the frame for attention and I spending way too much time on blogs and Rug Hooking Daily visits. It may be time to have your vision checked. Our eye sight diminishes so gradually that at one point we realize that it's time for new glasses. JB

We were on the same page with the red shoes. That was my idea too - but it didn't happen. I'll post that story later!
